SRE Already Feeling Effects of Irma Sunday Afternoon

We are already experiencing scattered outages due to gusts of wind snapping healthy, green trees and tearing down lines. Irma isn't even scheduled to arrive until tomorrow so we urge you to be prepared for possible extended outages. We have one additional crew in place and more crews on standby. Wind speeds of up to 70 mph are predicted for much of SRE's territory in addition to up to 6 inches of rain.

We will respond to outages as safely and efficiently as possible but encourage our members to plan for possible, lengthy outages. We are planning for the worst but hoping and praying for the best. While restoring power to our members is our main goal, the safety of our linemen while doing so is our top priority. We extend our prayers to everyone affected by Hurricane Irma. #hurricanestrong
