Storm Center

Storms can cause a variety of problems for electric distribution systems due to high winds, heavy rain and lightning.  High winds can knock down limbs or even trees, especially when the ground is saturated with moisture and lightning can also knock down limbs, trees and even strike utility poles, transformers or substations causing extensive damage to our equipment, not to mention power outages.

In the even of a power outage, there is a procedure that our crews must follow to ensure that everyone's power is restored safely and efficiently.  Find out more about How Your Power Is Restored.

Electricity follows many different paths before it reaches your home.  Follow the Path of Electricity to learn about how it is generated and distributed throughout the state.
