Southern Rivers Energy is Now Accepting Applications For Two Highly Coveted Washington Youth Tour Delegate Positions
If it is one of your life's dreams to travel around the nation’s capital and experience history like never before, listen up: Southern Rivers Energy is now accepting applications for the 2019 Washington Youth Tour.
Being a WYT delegate has some major advantages. In addition to enjoying an all-expense-paid week-long trip to DC, youth tour alumni have claimed the trip is an impressive addition to college applications and has helped land internships, ultimately leading to several careers with various EMCs across the state. Delegates have also gained lifelong friendships and in some cases, future college roommates or even bridesmaids or groomsmen in weddings.
Teens on the tour are challenged to consider the part they play in government and the cooperative movement, to become engaged citizens and to learn about careers in public service. We want to show DC the individuals who represent the next generation of accomplished, involved leaders in our community, state and nation.
Southern Rivers Energy is looking for applicants who are serious about their high school career and have experience in some type of service position, whether it’s volunteering with your church or participating in a work-study program through the school.
If you are one of the lucky two local high school students chosen, expect an unforgettable week of forming friendships from all over the nation, exploring monuments and museums, meeting senators and representatives, enhancing your leadership skills, and making once in a lifetime memories.
